...for Padfoot to come home!

Had an eventful afternoon putting the viv up - DIY is not my thing so it was a good job my mum was there, I just held the nails! Razz

Couple of last minute questions that came up today:

Where should I put the wire and thermo sensor for the heat mat? Currently it's through the top vent - do I need to secure it to the side with tape? And should I also secure it to the bottom?

I also think it's a bit dark in there because of where my window is, and it definitely will be in winter - I bought some press on sticky lights from IKEA - are they okay to stick inside the viv? Like these:

thank you for any help as always Very Happy

Lights are fine .. i have used these .. batterys dont last very long though . As for the heat mat i usually but the heatmat lead through the bottom hole and the thermo at the top .

Not long now and he will be home ... I noticed how close he is to your bed .. you will have to get use to the wheel going around lol ,x

Thanks for the advice Lou Smile will do as you suggested.

Lol I know I was thinking that, it's not as close as it looks on that photo though - I'm used to noisy neighbours so hopefully I can sleep through it! So excited xx

I leave the thermostat near the top and tape it to the side with the Streaked Tenrecs - have the LED lights from B&Q but the batteries do not last long - worth stocking up on batteries x

If all else fails you can get these

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

You need a controller which can host four LED lights - all run on mains - I use these for the streaked tenrecs - will show you when you come and collect Padfoot xx
