| I got asked the other day how much have i spent on my hedgehogs all together....well i thought id share:
6 LX48 vivs: £45 each £270 1 VX48 viv: £65 10 sets of liner and pouch: £20 each £200 4 tunnels: £6 each £24
endless amounts of bowls: £2.50 each £30 (at a guess) 7 wheels: £25 each (average) £175 3 plastic huts: £3.50 each £10.50 2 large castles: £7 each £14
6 hedgehogs...£150 each (average) 1 was bred by myself: free. £900
2 double thermostats: £50 each £100 2 single £25 £50 6 small heatmats £7 each £42 2 medium heat mats £14 each £28
total cost: £2000 (rounded up)
and i bet its more than that, as i have toys, stickers for the vivs, playpen, the whole hog room itself, name plaques, food, radiators.

| That's a good show of the costs involved Tayer.
I'm the same Lou, with my hoggie rescue room! It's all added up to quite a bit!

| no you and helen would probably be double, triple that... well singularly i worked it out at this...
but id say its about £300 per hog with set up and enrichment etc.. £300 x 7 = £2100

| Good post
I would hate to think but if I were to start at the beginning when I had zoozones, moved on to crappy built stacking units that were binned, then on to vivs, liners, wheels, bowls, toys, heaters bet mine is nearer £ 5000 and that is buying lots of items at trade x

| Might be Tayer - I honestly haven't totted it up over the years, it is something that I have just done - my bigger vivs from the shop were the most expensive as we had them custom built - each one of those was £ 100 - have seven now and the two four footers which were £ 130, then the viv stack my dad built so over £ 1000.00 on what I have now - wasted about £ 200.00 on crappy stacking things that the backs came out of - zoozones still have 2 and gave some away - shall stop now or I will go into melt down I think! | |

| Best Way but to be fair, Nigel has his seahorse "breeding facility" as it is now known, which cost more to set up and costs more to run than my hoggies - fair is fair. x | |

| I just don't tell my husband and try to write as much as possible off on the taxes as I can but still have been in the red for two years. I hope to make some profit next year but who am I kidding, they are spoiled rotten. | |
