PLEASE make sure you have an access point into your garden for our Prickly Friends and ask your neighbours if you can link your gardens.. A Hoggie will happily go around 9 or 10 gardens each night looking for food and water.. Thank you

Latest arrival this is HARRY.. Male weight 362g no injuries , few fleas been in and around a garden for few days with two other larger Hoggies.. He is very friendly has not curled into a ball at all which is slightly concerning. He will be monitored for weight gain but like many others he has to reach the hibernation weight or will be overwintered here at the rescue.. Thank you to Lorriane and her daughter Eleanor for catching Harry and bringing him in..

As the weather is nice this weekend a lot of you will probably be tidying your garden ready for the Autumn/Winter... PLEASE make sure that if you have had your garden shed or garage door left open even for only a short time, that you check carefully before locking it up as our Autumn Babies will happily go in for a safe haven and end up being trapped in their.. Thank you ..

Called out to a local vet who had taken in a Hoggie yesterday which was found out by a member of the general public.. They said the vet had checked it over and it has no injuries and can't see anything wrong but it is thin at the back end and sleeping a lot.. Then carried on to say could i take it as they don't really want to put it to sleep !!!!!!! I was there within 15 mins it is now safely here at the rescue on a heat pad and is starting to move around... whilst i was on my way another call for a small Hoggie found wobbling around in park.. weight 320g female few fleas very cold, on a heat pad in ICU to try and bring it's body temp back up ...

Called out to a lady who works at a school and found this Hoggie in there wildlife area who was out in daylight and appeared to be dragging a back leg.. It is a male 520g i have removed 73 ticks from it and cleaned his eyes up as they were sticky and almost closed.. He has got a swollen back leg but it is not broken.. I have started him on antibiotics which will hopefully take the swelling down.. He will be kept here until the course of antibiotics is finished to see if there is any permanent damage to the leg which would prevent him from being returned to the wild.. Thank you to the lady for calling me..

DEREK the Hoggie who was so brutally kicked on Tuesday evening is now moving around quite well.. He is eating and drinking small amounts and appears to be making good progress... Hopefully he did not sustain any permanent injury but time will tell for the little fella..

Latest arrivals.. This Mother and baby were found wandering around last evening but the Mother has an injured leg.. I would imagine that there are more babies and the people who brought her in are on look out and all the neighbours for any more.. Hopefully if there are more babies they will be found shortly...

The 5 babies are doing well but trying to weigh them is a different matter!! thought it would be easier to bring them all in at once to weigh them but they were soon climbing out and escaping..
