Derek is an angel , he is very special to me and he is doing really well , he still only weighs 150g and doesn't come out of his bed at night but he is now eating on his own which is a massive step forward . He won't eat biscuits but he eats chicken and mince and is maintaining his weight so I'm just keeping a close eye on him . 

Hello gorgeous Derek - you are a special little man and your mummy has done wonders with you. Good news that you are eating by yourself - big steps forward for you. You could ask your mummy to bash some biscuits with a rolling pin so that they are crumbs and mix them in with your chicken - that way you might take a little in with your chicken and keep them teeth nice and clean and in good condition.

He is adorable Helen , such a sweet little boy ....... I have tried the crushed biscuits but when they are in his food he doesn't touch it so I stopped putting them in because I was worried about him losing weight if he wasn't eating . Do you think I should keep trying and put some in every other night or something like that ?

I would - if you could blend them down to crumbs it might make it easier for him - I think adding them makes sense as he will need to keep his teeth in good condition - really fine crumbs - sneak them in like you would a sprout to a child!

I think I will start with a small amount to begin with so that he perhaps won't notice them try and increase the amount slowly  x

Oh he definitely stole a lot of hearts such a soft spot for him. His sister willow sends her huffing love

A lovely update and a lovely photie too You have done well in taking care of this little boys special needs and it looks as though he has a bit of a fan club too

Sneaking the biscuits in pinch by pinch at a time is the best way to ensure he is still getting the roughage needed to keep his little peggies clean and healthy
