May need help.

For those who have cared for a wild hog I may need so e help...

Iv been contacted about a very small underweight hog, there arnt any problems or cuts etc just small and underweight....havnt seen yet, going to pick it up after work tomorrow...!

I'm guessing he won't go into hibernation now? Should I just fatten him up here myself and let him go for the spring or should I take him to a rescue?

If you can find a rescue in your area or would like me to find one near you, just let me know, as the babies may be carrying internal parasites, it is always best if a carer can look over them first, they will remove any ticks and also treat for fleas and/or parasites if necessary. They may well appreciate your help if you they say it is suitable for fostering over winter, he will not need to go to sleep but will need to be kept warm - I would use a ZZ for him rather than one of your vivs - easier to clean as they do make a heck of a mess - if you need anything, just give me a text or call xx

I have a spare ZZ so that's cool. I said I'd pick it up on Monday evening after work....I can then take it on Tuesday to see someone....

Tell them to keep the hedgehog warm, offer chicken based cat food in jelly, cat biscuits and water - change the paper daily as they do make a mess - you know where I am if you need anything x

I have her...think it's a girl under all that fur.....teeny tiny.
It is better behaved than my APH, no huffs no balling...I'm shocked...have msg gill...as she sent me a PM about a wil hog page I tried to join...so I told her my situation, waiting to hear back.

Awww, she is tiny! Helen is very right when she advises a zoozone 2. My goodness they're messy, haha! They are better behaved than our hoggies. Richard is forever commenting on it! x x

Iv taken it to an animal rescue in Newport that gill had recommended me to....he has over 80 hedgehogs, reptiles, birds....foxes badgers....un-real.

Wow! I hope he has some help otherwise he'll be at it till past midnight!
