| Harvey... another feral tom from our area. Been trying to trap and snip some of these guys for ages! This guy turned up with a wound on his face... later turned out to be an old healed abcess and a slight limp. Luckily this guy turned up FIV and Felv negative but he has a fractured leg on one side and a broken toe on the other. The fracture has partly healed, leaving him with a leg slightly shorter than the other. We are now fostering him in our living room! to see if he is in pain or not. If he isnt he can be released, if not then the poor guy will have to be pts  Prob the first time Ill ever say it, but fingers crossed the pain meds dont improve his limp! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]you can see his lumpy right leg in the pic. I think it may just be due to his leg lengths as he has more of an elongated step on that foot. His bodyweight is good too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Poor guy, just don't understand why owners don't get them neutered/spayed if they don't want kittens - always feel sad when it comes to animals that have been neglected and abandoned - good job they have you Hayley x | |

| hard work, he is really wild. Has been out a few times on the chair asleep and he has been eating away. Our area has a fair few ferals. My old cat Mojo was a unneuterred stray, we had him done then 3 1/2 years later he got sick and turned out to have fiv & felv, Strider was semi feral he has fiv. Bahannon was stray he was all clear. And Harvey has now come back clear. Fingers crossed we can catch & snip more of the ferals and theycome back negative! I really get annoyed when people dont get their cats done... even if you cant afford there are charities that will do it so no excuse whatsoever | |

| When I had my cats they were all done, same with the dogs - if I had my way men would be as well! | |

| What are felv and fiv? Do you pay out of your own pockets to treat these cats?

| One is the cat equivalent to HIV I think but I can be wrong - you vaccinate against them, like rabbits and mixy x | |

| yup fiv is feline hiv... spreads through deep bites mainly and no vaccine. felv is feline leukemia (spelling)... spreads through bites and saliva but can be vaccinated against. kills much quicker and naturally ferals carrying cant be released the ferals are being neutered and tested via cats protection. others are us :p | |

| yea Mojo had Felv and FIV... we didnt know anything about it really until after he got sick (we only had him three years) turned out he had total kidney failure and he was PTS. Was so close to that cat So a real worry for us with ferals & strays. We are really hoping we can just reduce the risk of it spreading more... plus peoples pet cats if they dont vaccinate. FIV it not as easy to spread | |

| He is gaaaawgeous! How could anyone abandon an animal? I actually know someone who moved house once and didn't take her cat with her. She was immediately unfriended and told what I thought of her. Disgusting....... | |
