Thank you for helping hedgehogs
Dear Mrs Helen Gill
Thank you for supporting our declining hedgehog population by becoming a Hedgehog Champion. You may be aware that we are about to launch a nationwide survey to monitor the emergence of hedgehogs from hibernation.
From the 1st February up until the 31st August 2012 we are asking you to submit records each time you see a hedgehog. We need you to tell us how many you saw, where they were and whether they were dead or alive.
Using information from your sightings, we will be able to look at the patterns of hibernation emergence across the UK and compare them with those recorded in the 1970s to see if the behaviour of the hedgehog has changed. Our results will inform future conservation plans for this much-loved animal.
Please sign up for the survey now. If you have registered to use the Champions' areas on the website then you can access this survey using your existing log-in details. If you do not yet have a username and password then you will need to register as a new user. Once you have registered, please tell us whenever you spot a hedgehog!
Many thanks,
Henry Johnson
