The wound was 3 times that size, infested with maggots. A possible strimmer injury.
When he came in he weighed 650g :he deserved a chance.
wound was cleaned up and dead skin removed . He now weighs 950g The next treatment will be an operation to close up wound and pull spines in.

We really need to be aware of what we could be doing ... check all hedges before strimming .. this will prevent this happening .
