Ok i have seen the Uk live food .. and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on locust farming do i need to keep them at a certain temp ? would this go for mealies as well ?

I think for me it would be cheaper to farm my own mealies .. but have no idea where to start .

Any help would be great

what do you keep them in ?
what do you feed them to make them grow ?
how long do they last before turning ?
do locust change as well ?
do crickets change ..

Eden said he would be quite happy to do the farming but we really dont no where to start .

I have mine in a Rubbermaid tub. I use oat bran as base. We feed ours cut up potatoes and carrots. I will gut load them with old fruit. If you keep them cool it slows down the change to beetle. I have a container for worms, beetles, and aliens. If I get a bumper crop I take some with bran and put in container with a lid and place in refrigerator and they will last a couple of weeks. If you take them out every so often let them warm up and feed them and put back in they will last even longer. I find they are very easy and then you know what is in their bellies when feeding them to hedgies.

I breed Dubia Roaches Lou, I much prefer them to the other live foods. Can beardies have them? I would assume so.

Our roaches get dog biscuits and any left over veg peelings. Roaches are loads better than crickets, they don't jump or bite! They are easy to breed as well.

There will be caresheets of how to breed locusts online but I am not sure how easy it is...
