| My mums cat is poorly , she has mouth cancer , but with her being 17 the vet said its not fair operating on her as she would more than likely die during the operation , so she is at home with my mum and dad and seeing her last days out . I spoke to my mum on Sunday and she said she was really poorly and struggling to eat so they had made the heart breaking decision to have her put to sleep . When I rang to see how they were yesterday my dad had taken her the vets but brought her back home as he couldn't go ahead with putting her to sleep as she was bright eyed and bushy tailed . The vet had put her on antibiotics just to stop any infection getting in her mouth and they seem to have perked her up a bit so for now she is at home enjoying her creature comforts but for how long we don't know [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here she is with my daughter , you wouldn't believe she was 17 !!! | My heart goes out to you Jo - she really is a beautiful cat - I think your mum and dad will know when it is time and a few extra days will help them come to terms with things - I wish Rosie some extra time with your parents. xx | |

| So sorry Jo, it is a hard thing. I hope they get a few extra days with her and she gets to feel the love of the wonderful home and family she has had for all these years. Hugs | |

| Unfortunately my parents had to have Rosie put to sleep today as she just got worse and couldn't eat properly and it was the kindest thing for her . She lived to a good age of 17 and had a happy loving life . RIP Rosie x [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Big Hugz all round Jo, I have only just read this post for the first time :-(
It sounds as though Rosie was very much loved though and she had a life of luxury

| 17 years is a long, long time. It really does leave a big hole in your life when something is gone that has been a part of it in such a way as a pet has... especially 17 years...
