A word used to describe parasitic skin disease. There are different types of mange caused by different parasites and the treatments will differ. Demodectic Mange is caused by a sensitivity to an overpopulation of Demodex Canis and usually occurs if the animals immune system is unable to keep the mites under control. Sarcoptic mange is caused by the mite Sarcoptes Scabiei, a burrowing mite. The patient in this case will be very itchy and the skin will appear scaly with much fur loss. This is the type of mange often associated with foxes and is sometimes referred to as canine scabies.

This is horrid, I hate parasites. They say everything on this earth has a purpose, I have been trying to work out what good these horrors do.
