Rabbit jumping has been going on in the U.K. for about three years now and it looks set to become increasingly popular as people go to events and see for themselves how much the rabbits enjoy it.
Apparently it all began at the Yorkshire Agricultural Show and spread from there – this year’s show is June 9th by the way.Now ‘RJUK’ a group of people who are currently trying to raise the profile of Rabbit Jumping have set up a face-book page and website, so you can find out more about this growing sport:

In March, April and May they hired a hall and set up jumps in two rows – one row for the more experienced rabbits and one for the beginners. It was pleasing that several new people came to the practices with their rabbits, which soon got into the swing of things and had a thoroughly good time. It is hoped that even more new people will come to try rabbit jumping at the Honley Show where, outside the rabbit tent, they will be holding a demonstration and offer the chance to get involved. Activities and demonstrations include: jumps set up, ready to start – Abbey and her Crèche – Smudge the Himalayan Lop – An experienced rabbit takes to the Jumps and Hector the Dutch resting with a friend!!
RJUK extend a warm welcome to all…. if you go to this event do please tell us all about it when you get back.
