Babies .x

Ok firstly i NEVER EVER go rooting in my nests for at least 10 /12days always depending on mommy . Herbiie on her first litter with her baby Inca never built a nest just had her behind the igloo, and continued to raise her there , so this is quite normal for Herbiie . I went into the hog room this morning and Herbiie has the babies in the open even though she has a nesting box .. she has being like this for the last couple of days . So i was able to get these pictures from the roof of her zoozone and through the plastic sides .

This is not normal for most hogs and AT ALL TIMES SHOULD NOT BE DISTURBED FOR AT LEAST the first 10 to 12 days and always go my mommy .x
I never in anyway disturbed Herbiie and took the pictures from quite a distance back with one of my macro lenses .












Herbiie has plenty of nesting material fina card but has pushed it all up the sides of her zoozone .. she has a heat mat under her cage to ensure the babies stay warm .x

I think they will be heavier flakes then inca as they have more white then she did at the 10 day mark x the photo of the baby on the side shows how light they are , the others have being taken through the plastic on the zoo zone x

Lol that was me using the wrong buttons in photo shop as ed has formatted my laptop for himself , don't usually use photoshop bit of poop was there lol .

Just out of interest Lou - do you just leave the feeding to mum and they just eat the solid food you put down for mum when they are ready? In other words do they just wean themselves as it were?

Yes Netty , the babies will start licking the biscuits around the 3 week mark ... then they will start to eat . There has being some speculation as wether mom softens the biscuits by chewing them and then gives them to the babies as well .x
