Staff at a hospital for hedgehogs in Manchester have said the recent wet weather has led to an increase in prickly patients.
Withington Hedgehog Hospital Trust said the hedgehogs, trying to shelter in the grass, were being injured with strimmers and lawnmowers.
The hospital is currently nursing 22 hedgehogs back to health that have been left injured by gardeners.
As soon as they have recovered they will be released back into the wild.
