| I have a lot of people who ring the shop or email me asking for advice on feeding/housing/mites etc
There seems to be a lot of mite problems at the moment so if anybody is thinking of purchasing a new hog/hoglet be careful if you do intend to buy one from a shop as a lot of the queries I am getting are coming from shop related purchases - also, one to be careful of is a seller in Mold, North Wales - advertisers on pre-loved a lot, a nine week old baby has been collected and has an infestation of mites which the new owner is having to treat which I personally think is pretty bad. | |

| I get quite shocked when i read things like this as i would never dream of sending my babies out without checking them for mites ... although i think i have been quite lucky that none of mine have had them even Tallulah was given the all clear ...x | |

| I know things can happen - but theres no way the hoglet can be infested without the seller knowing and its disgusting they would sell like that | |

| Totally agree with you - pregnant/nursing mums can have blooms but if you are handling them surely you would see them and even if you didn't and were informed that they had mites wouldn't you treat them at the very least - responsible action for me x | |

| I treat my babies when they go ... and inform the new owners but someone said to be once that i shouldnt do it unless they have them ... this will be the first litter i had .. after this advice was given what would you do ...? Treat as precaution or not ..? | |

| To be honest I have never thought about doing it - they all carry their own low load that comes out in times of stress etc - would like to think the babies could build up their own immune system to deal with them - I am more paranoid with having doggies in the house | |

| my vets won't give me stronghold as they are not sure of the dosage, they said the xeno mini 50 is good enough for mites. I was under the impression that it didn't work for burrowing mites but my vet reckons it does. I pinched some stronghold from Helen last time I wanted to treat them | |
