| This giant eyeball washed ashore in Pompano Beach, Fla and was picked up by a beachcomber. It was reported to wildlife officers and will be analyzed at the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla. There have been plenty of guesses as to what it is - it's been speculated that it comes from a giant squid or even a whale. Officials are leaning towards the explanation that it comes from a large, deep water fish such as a tuna or swordfish. Either way, they plan on finding out using genetic testing and expert advice from around the world [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
