A timely reminder to be very careful if you are having a bonfire, either in your garden or for bonfire night. Remember that any pile of garden debris which looks like a bonfire pile to you, will look like a lovely place to nest to a hedgehog. The only safe way to have a bonfire is to build the pile on the day that you light it, don't even leave it for one night...as a hog might have gone inside overnight. This was what a burned hedgehog looks like.
