In June 2013 People's Trust for Endangered Species co-ordinated its 18th Hazel Dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) reintroduction at woodland in Nottinghamshire, England. This wildlife conservation project aims to return the rare hazel dormouse to parts of the British countryside from which it has been lost or where their numbers are worryingly low.
After 2 weeks acclimatising the cage doors were opened and the dormouse pair were free to start their new life in the woods.
