| Even if new quills are coming through he really shouldnt have lost any .. so their maybe another issue ...
you can go the vets and get stronghold or you can get Xeno50 off line .... it could be something else thou .but you would need to take him to a vet exotic to get him checked over x | |

| Kirsty can I ask what setup you went for in the end? Housing type, heat source, bedding, litter tray content etc. x | |

| Zoozone2, sawdust because he was already in that, but thinking of changing to fleece, electric head mat with thermostat, small litter tray.

| You really shouldn''t have to go to your vets as soon as this after picking up a hoglet Kirsty . If he is found to have mites you should go back to the breeder and see if they will refund you a good breeder would .
People do use sawdust but its not something i would recommend personally finacard.co.uk you can order from their or Sheila or Helen make lovely liners .x

| Oh OK. I had read about it being dangerous for them due to the dust etc and hurting boy bits. I thought it was a no no. x | |

| yeah cathy, that's what i thought too dont worry yourself kirsty, the forum is the right place to come if you have any worries, and everyone on here can give good advice no one is a vet on here though (as far as im aware! ) so i'd say to make sure alf is 100% okay the best thing to do is take him to an exotic specialist vet, then it will put your mind at rest and sort alfie out if there are any problems xxx | |

| Awe thank you. I have messaged the breeder to let her know that he is going to the vets. When i am back i am going to change his bedding to fleece as i want the best for him. Its more on his bum area i think when its slightly sparse. I took a pic of that one too and attached it. I will still take him to the vets and see what they say! xxx | |

| Hi Guys, Im back. He hasnt got Mites. He just got some dry skin where he is quilling. he is a healthy chappy . They are going to take a sample of his stools to be on the safe side. They said to just give him a bath with oatmeal, so this is what i have done. he didnt seem too impressed, but it has made his skin look better I just have to keep an eye on him. Hes now in his new home with fleece lining, and he now has two lots of light in his home now. xxxx | |
