DANGER: GARDEN PONDS

PROBLEM:

Although Hedgehogs can swim, they will tire and eventually drown in a garden pond if there is no way of escaping.

SOLUTION:

Fit slipways around the edge of the pond using chicken wire or a ramp
Place a plank of wood on the surface of the pond
Place half-submerged rocks in the pond
Ensure escape routes are not steep as they may become wet and slippery
