Well another night passed by Drove out to rescue a juvenile 222gms. Spent 2 hours taking off the fly strike which covered her Now on heat and fluids given as a little dehydrated. So much for trying to reduce my intake. 2 today !!

We've had a bad couple of days. People calling with hogs they've rescued or been watching lying on their lawn for over a day or more before calling me. We had to put a juv to sleep tonight when it was discovered there were maggots just about everywhere. Left for 4 days. One with a dragging back leg left a day in a box. Please call straight away. Dont leave them to suffer. RIP. little ones

Today we try Luke outside again. A month ago he went into soft release refused to come out of bed or eat and we were forced to bring him back inside again where he lost loads of weight for a while. He is now back up to 650 and we will try again. Like came to us as a baby found in a hole with his 2 rather decayed and maggot full siblings and how it was he was perfectly ok was a mystery.

2 little ones in tonight a boy 196 and a girl 200. Apart from been cold appear ok. The smaller one had a sprinkling of fly eggs but removed easily. Found in the day hambling about. Trouble is there is a third still under the shed where the nest is. The poor finder is out in the rain waiting for it to come out so it can join his siblings before it gets wetter and colder. Hope it comes out soon

Thought I'd better put some pics on here. This is Rudy, our strimmer injury. His nose is healing and he is eating at last, where he wasn't eating a thing at first and was on critical care.

With great sadness to have to say poor Rudy pictured below found dead when i checked on him after work. He was eating and off his meds and putting on weight. Very baffling when hogs suddenly turn around and die for no apparent reason RIP little guy. The strimmer won after all x

Very good news 2 out of the 4 babies have finally been caught by finder at last. The mother that came into us last night died during the night sadly. We've been worried about these babies since last night when we searched for them as we picked the mother up. Our wonderful foster carers Dave and Bel are on their way now to fetch them.

First one of mine to decide to hibernate. I'd planned to get Jake out too was trying to get him up to 700 gms. He's currently 686gms. He may wake up if it gets mild again

Just to keep up with the other rescues reporting at getting small hogs in so Hogfields has had 5 in today all under 400 gms. One 395 two in the 200's and one 114gms. Coming in fast now and getting busy again. The little one is in with us been monitored and receiving milk feeds our lovely foster carers have fetched the 5th from well out our area also very small. This cold weather is bringing them out of the wood work keep them pinned for small struggling hogs out there. Thanks
