I have a poorly dog :(

Had to rush one of my little doggies to the vet this morn as he got me up in the night crying, he couldn't walk and looked like he was in pain. He has slipped a disc in his back so he's had a painkilling injection and got some tablets to take. Hopefully he will feel better soon.
Here his is being pampered but looking really sorry for himself

aw bless him... has he got metacam for at home too? if he hasnt ask the vet's opinion on that, as the injection wont last long xxx

Hi Josie , they have given me some tablets called rimadyl , I think they are anti inflamitory pain killers .

good moll had metacam for about a week, she loves to jump on the sofa with my dad, but it's getting harder for her now because of her age, and jumping up does her back no favours. how old is he? he's a cutie, my dave likes westies, he calls them little solid dogs! xxx

He is 6 , I also have 2 other dogs , another westie and a Shih tzu cross with a bichon frise. I think the cross has got a little rough with him when they have been play fighting that has caused his back to go, so I'm hoping it will just be a one off thing

i hope so too you're right, he's quite young for back problems, so hopefully it's just a little injury... keep us updated how he is though xxx

My dog is a lot better now , he has had cage rest for a couple of weeks now and has made a big improvement. I just have to be careful now because he wants to play with the others all the time and I'm worried about them hurting him, here is a picture and you can tell he is a lot brighter

Thank you, he is lovely and you feel so helpless when they are poorly but I'm glad he's on the mend, I just hope it's not going to be something he is prone too, just hope it was a one off. I have 2 other dogs and I think they were play fighting and maybe he twisted himself funny . Fingers crossed it won't happen again .
