Please please please be careful when gardening, if you could see some of the horrific pictures from other rescues that I've seen you would never use a strimmer again! Luckily I've not had one like that yet but I expect it's just a matter of time, so sad Sad

This little chap was found out on a lawn at midday on a very hot day and was suffering with a heavy burden of lungworm and ticks. He's now on the mend and due to be released soon. Not sure he really appreciated being weighed or having his photo taken by the look that I got!

Picked up another Hedgehog from Monkleigh yesterday in a bad way. I'm pleased to say that he's made a bit of an improvement overnight and fingers crossed is on the road to recovery. I would just like to say a big thank you to Torbridge Vet Group especially Jon who have done a fantastic job.

This is the little chap from Monkleigh, looking a bit better and wide awake as he's just had a bit to eat, he's still not eating properly for himself yet.

Had an adult hedgehog in late on Thursday night with an awful infected wound to it's back leg which was infested with maggots. So far with the help of painkillers, antibiotics and antibacterial washes he seems to doing well and a good sign is he loves his food! Smile Thanks to the couple who found him he didn't suffer a horrible end and is comfortable and safe here now.
Fingers crossed he'll make a full recovery but it's early days yet.
Thank you so much to them aswell for the donation and the fantastic much needed carrier I really do appreciate them.

Busy day today, two hoglets in, one was caught in garden netting hopefully no damage has been done and another found lying at the side of a path in full sun. This is a photo of the very hungry second hoglet who gobbled his food down Smile. Also had the joy of taking 34 ticks off another hedgehog today

Sadly the hedgehog that had the serious leg wound was put to sleep this morning. I'm absolutely gutted but the leg was not improving with treatment, sometimes the kindest thing to do is let them go Sad RIP "Quite Stinky"

Two little hoglets picked up this morning, their nest was disturbed and the finders did the right thing by carefully re-covering the nest in the hope that mum would come back but after keeping watch for 24 hours and no sign of mum rang for help.

New visitor to the hedghog feeding station last night but he's got me a bit puzzled as I've released two into the area with purple and green tags but this one has red (not a colour I use). Either one of them has had a wash and repainted itself to confuse me or someone else is tagging hedgehogs in the area, very mysterious!
