| The Druids are all above or around the 400g mark so will be leaving us shortly to go to foster carer Sue. She has an out door pen that can fit all three for the winter. Weights will be monitored closely to make sure they are still gaining weight in out door conditions.
Four hedgehog that came in recently are now quickly approaching release weight. They ate and ate and ate. Contacted all finders to make sure they have homes and ready to go. Just need some mild weather and thats four empty pens...

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The long awaited pic of our Gracie. The female head/attack hedgehog that has been through so much but has improved over a period of time. She is now over 500g, walking eating. A complete different little hog from when she first came in. | |

| Today three hogs left to go to foster carer Sue. The Druids featured and made famous >>Snigger<<< in the Times. As someone said the posh paper. We still have two hogs that are concerning us at the moment. Hoping that the male three legged will be off the a secure garden this week and then the other three legged male can go out side. | |

| This time of year all hedgehog carers will be checking weather reports to see if there are any gaps in the weather that are suitable for release. Next week there is a clear 5 days of mild weather, dry condition. BUT there is one issue. Bonfire night. When Hedgehogs are returned back to the wild there is no guarantee that they stay in their nice warm, dry hedgehog homes that are waiting for them. The dangers are if they find a newly built pile of logs that un-known to them will soon be lite. So the question has to be is it worth the risk or do you possible miss out on the only opportunity you may have to release before spring?
Please if you have a hedgehog home in your garden leave some dry hay or leafs outside. Give any wild hogs a helping hand to build warmer homes. A major storm is meant to hit us on Sunday. Look out for any small hogs and any under 400g should be picked up and your nearest rescue unit phoned. under 500g seek help and phone.

| Well no bonfires for us this weekend, all the wind and rain kept me in the nice dry, warm house. Bluey and Hal have been hand fed now for a few days. Hal has put some great weight gains on whilst Bluey has put some on but at least it wasn't another loss. We have a male three legged leaving us tomorrow to go to a great secure garden. Rowen a blind hog has been there a few years but as the garden is in two halves they can have two males that will never meet. We haven't seen Dan dan again for a few days but food is still being eaten. | |

| Tomorrow 4 Juvs are coming in. We have all ready got the one which came in a few nights ago, must be his family so a reunion party is called for. Had along conversation with our VETS today, Townsend Veterinary Practice about Bluey. As I had just picked him up they took a poo sample which he had just obliged us with. They spotted Fluke which I had missed. Treatment starts tomorrow so hopefully this will be it and he will start to improve. Fingers crossed | |

| Well what can I say today, Our first Juv has died to Lung worm, Hedgehog can die through eating slugs so by support feeding them in your garden they will leave them a lone. Please consider feeding any wild hogs this time of year you could just help save a life. | |

| Bluey is still losing weight but he has a liking for ive meal worms so I am handing them one at a time until he has had enough. I think the outcome may be a sad one as I am starting to think he will never pull through. Its sad but every year we have had a hog that just doesnt grow or thrive. | |

| Names needed. It is unusal for us to get girl litters but the three juvs that has been featured on here before has turned out to be YES all girls. So three girl names needed, we dont name all the hogs but the ones that we seem to talk about just adds that little bit more interest and awareness into their plight. The hog that came in last night has been booked in for 8.30 am tomorrow for his the leg to be amputated. | |
