| Two admissions today, a large boy who somehow got trapped in a trailer and a mature female who has just died on the way back to Prickles! The finders are looking for her nest as she looked like she was lactating! | |

| Not quite sure what is going on out there, another hog in this morning cold, dehydrated and wet, bloody weather! Died within an hour of admission. Low on hoglet admissions this year, have had four in to date, just hope they are all ok in the wild. We are way up on poorly adults coming in, a very strange year so far!!!

| We are receiving calls daily of hedgehogs out in the day feeding under bird tables etc! Admitted a boy last night who was feeding at 4.30pm, we are admitting and assessing these hogs but we are finding very little wrong with them so they are going back out to the wild! Not sure whether they are eating enough during the night but this is a new one for us! | |

| Not a nice day yesterday at prickles, Wonky our hog who is being treated with a head tilt aborted three hoglets, we had no idea she was pregnant! A call out last night to a area where two hoglets were found dead. We located the nest but it was so tight, the mum was wedged under a wooden log building on a concrete floor. Another hoglet was found dead in the nest, I don't think she could move to feed them! We managed to free and relocate her and the finder has blocked the entrance. It was such a shame as the hoglets had reached three weeks of age but as they grew it became more difficult for the mum to manoeuvre. A hog on its way in this morning, hoping for a better day! | |

| 2.40am just got back from Cheltenham with two hoglets!!! One was found in a pond this afternoon and the other was heard peeping at 11.00pm! Finders were phoning lots of numbers in the area but no reply! I could hear them peeping during the phone call armed with hot water bottle, syringes, teats and esbilac only one thing to do hit the M5! They have just been fed and are snuggled up in a hat on a heat pad!! Not far off being weaned! | |

| By way of an update.... The two hoglets that came in yesterday have settled and are taking feeds well! Wonky 1 an 2 are the two hogs with a head injury, they are responding to their treatment of steroid injections. The big lad who was found tangled in netting has a chest infection. Antibiotics for him. The little boy with the fractured back leg has had his splint off, it is healing slowly but well, To name but a few! | |

She has been a fantastic mum, her four babies are fully weaned they will remain at Prickles until they reach 450 grams! The hoglets are doing well, I am now off to give them their first feed of the day! | |

| Another busy day at Prickles, a dehydrated female was admitted this afternoon she was found trapped in a gully. Mum and three hoglets were rescued from a shed, a dead hoglet lay nearby, it looked like it had been attacked by a dog! A large male hedgehog was with the mum and hoglets, strange! They all came into Prickles. A female has just arrived after being out early evening not doing anything just standing still! That gives us a total of seven admissions today! | |

| Another arrival last night a little hoglet weighing 116 grams some teeth just through! He was first seen a couple of days ago when he was placed under a hedge. He reappeared yesterday at 6.00pm yesterday when the finders picked him up, they have named him Pebbles Palmer as he was found amongst some pebbles in a garden! He has lost his mum and litter mates, he took to the syringe last night and has also been given some mashed up cat food! | |

| We picked up five hoglets yesterday that were being monitored by the finders! They were last seen with mum on Tuesday! They were all out of the nest peeping yesterday afternoon and weigh 130-156 grams! We had a call from the same people today a hedgehog was in their garden! We picked it up and it turned out to be mum of the five hoglets! They have been reunited and the hoglets were screeching at her when I put them together! She just looked confused!!!! They were last seen taking a feed from her, I think she must've got trapped somewhere! | |
