Sunday's rescue hedgehogs are doing fine they are 121, 120, 113, 131, 121, and 113 grams this morning

Julia & hoglets this afternoon. 182, 175, 167, 158, 158, & 153 grams. Julia is currently 1142 grams, a far cry from the skinny 733 grams that she was when she first arrived here over a week ago.

Julia & the hoglets are doing fine, but I'm getting concerned now about my local wild tribe in this heat, so I'm going to put the feeder cam back online to see what is going on hedgehog wise in my back garden tonight. The picture is going to be much higher resolution as I have now got a higher spec video card.

Julia, out for a quick snack yesterday. Its been so rewarding helping her bring up her hoglets in the safety of my hedgehog unit.

One of the hoglets (Pippa) out this afternoon (she is now 203 grams) Hedgehog food tastes so much better if you stand in it!

Just found a 214 gram male hoglet in the feeder! Very thirsty and hungry, taken it into care before my neighbour's dogs get it!

Oh Dear
The 214 gram 'wild' hoglet found in my feeder in the early hours, now turns out to be an escaper from the family of Mum & 6 that I am keeping in a large veterinary cat cage in the garden, Must have sneaked out when I was cleaning them out, he is now reunited with the rest of them.

Julia out today for a check up, she is now separated from the hoglets as they are all around 300 grams and we don't want any confrontations.
I expect to release her into my back garden in the near future were she will be supported by the feeder.
She is one of the healthiest and nicest hedgehogs that I've had here, its been a real pleasure to look after her and the hoglets for the last 3 weeks, but it will soon be time to let her go back into the wild, I do hope she stays local to me.

A 224 gram hoglet in a collapsed state in today from Ivybridge, now looking much better after having subcutaneous fluids. Thanks to Mrs Jane Pothecary Lye fast action of bringing it in, it now stands a good chance recovery.
Its had a few kitten biscuits and done a poo, but the next 24 hours will be critical.

HUFF UPDATE!
After arriving here this afternoon in a state of collapse and looking near to death, Huff has made a miraculous recovery after being given subcutaneous fluids.
He has gone up 20 grams in weight now that he is not dehydrated and he is currently scratching around in his new nest box. I was so pleased with his progress that I have given him his first worming injection to kill the lung worm that he is infested with. I have just given him a second lot of fluids to see him through the night and hopefully his system will be back to normal by the morning.

The family out while their cages are being cleaned. Pippa, Claire, Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. They are around 500 grams now and I will be releasing them into the garden soon.

A new baby hedgehog in tonight a little girl of 167 grams. It has eaten and it looks ok.
Just done a faecal test on her poo and its clear, I've left her to settle in tonight and I will have a good look at her in the morning.

Hedgehog update

Huff's system now has returned to normal thanks to the subcutaneous fluids and his weight has now gone up to 250 grams.

Lily is now eating and showed a slight weight gain since yesterday, her poo now looks normal.

Both of the hoglets have been faecal tested today and are clear.

Half of the Mafia from Millbrook out today while their cage is being cleaned.
Some of them have now reached 600 grams and hopefully will be released into my garden late tomorrow night when all the maniacal weekend gardeners have finished for the week.

Hoglet update

Both hoglets are now gaining weight, Lily (shown here) is now 174 grams and Huff is 270 grams.

After being released last night at 22:00 hrs, Claire, Mark & John arrived back at the feeder for breakfast this morning at 05:45 hrs. Pippa, Luke & Matthew will be going tonight.

After arriving here 5 weeks ago from Millbrook in Cornwall with their Mum and weighing just under 100 grams, half of the hoglets are tonight back in the wild, weighing around 600 grams.

After a slow start, little Huff from Ivybridge is improving fast, he is now 312 grams and very lively, he tries to disappear over the horizon if you put him down. He has gained 52 grams in the last 7 days.

Lily from Brixham is also improving and is now 200 grams having gained 36 grams in the last 4 days.

Matthew, Luke & Pippa have been released tonight, but I have had to bring Claire back in again.
She was found out in the garden in daylight at 20:00 hrs tonight and I have just found her running around in the road outside.
She was the smallest of the litter, last night she was 512 grams, tonight she is down to 450 grams. I don't think she is quite ready to go yet.

Lily is now 247 grams and Huff is 341 grams

Matthew from Millbrook (shown here) is now living in the hedgehog houses in the garden and can be seen visiting the feeder throughout the night.

Little Huff from Ivybridge (shown here) is coming on well he is now 388 grams and is due to have his last worming injection tonight.
